The 49th Vinitaly edition revealed the rich programme of Radici del Sud, the festival which rewards the good wines produced from native grapes grown in Apulia, Basilicata, Campania and Sicily. The 23rd March at Verona’s fair the patron of the renowned event Nicola Campanile was supported by the councillor for Apulian agricultural policies Fabrizio Nardoni, as well as by the journalists Luciano Pignataro, Ole Udsen, Maurizio Gily and Michele Peragine who led the press conference. The meeting was joined by international journalists and operators who were eager to know the rich programme of Radici del Sud.
“Lots of innovations for the forth coming edition which is expected to be an exciting one, says the organizer Nicola Campanile – First of all the venue that has now moved to Bari, from 9 to 15th June. Moreover, the event will take place in two different locations in order to improve all those technical aspects organizers have to arrange. The blind tasting and the BtoB meetings with the operators will be held behind closed doors on the first six days at Ronḍ Hotel, while the concluding day, open to all wine lovers, is scheduled for 15th June and will be arranged at the enchanting Masseria Corte di Torrelonga”.
But it’s not all!
The BtoB meetings will be only addressed to producers, wine buyers and importers, whereas the 30 journalists and bloggers, both Italian and foreigners, the latter ones coming from Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Great Britain, Holland, USA, China, Hong Kong and Poland will also join real press tours throughout Apulia, besides having the delicate task of blind tasting the wines produced in South Italian regions.
Moreover, being located close to Bari airport, other journalists and importers will be able to join the Exhibition on its concluding day (15th June), thus benefiting from the really appealing and varied wine proposal of South Italy.
One more change: wine lovers will be given the opportunity to join a blind tasting where to try all the samples of the registered wineries and to know the several wine jewels South Italy has. Finally, in order to celebrate all the awarded wines of this edition, on 15th June the best Apulian chefs together with other well known chefs coming from South Italian regions will prepare a series of dishes to be served with the winning wines both during the gala dinner and the buffet one.All news
