At Radici del Sud outstanding world wine experts will be asked to estimate how successful the South Italian native wine is
The most influential wine experts and international wine writers awaited in Bari
The most skilled wine connoisseurs will meet in Bari coming from all corners of the world to join the tenth edition of the one and only great event which celebrates the South Italian native grapes. From next 9th to 15th June Radici del Sud will welcome more than thirty national and international wine experts who will be asked to judge the way the varied wine production has evolved over the last years catching the attention of a large number of wine lovers who carefully notice all the fine details and the peculiar tones wines have.
Coming from Austria, Sweden, Belgium, Great Britain, US, Hong Kong, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Poland and Japan, as well as from Italy, they will make up the juries that will express and give the best results for each category ( according to the grapes the wines are produced from) and will join the scheduled press tours useful to intensify the knowledge of the meaningful framework where all the activities related to wine making originate directly from the places and the wineries where wines are produced.
The producers joining Radici del Sud wil enjoy the precious opportunity to entrust the best wine divulgers, well known for being greatly experienced and skilled, with the important message of deeply knowing their wines before spreading them all over the world. Among the illustrious guests of Radici del Sud 2015 there will be two Masters of Wine: Debra Meiburg, coming from Hong Kong, and the English Susan Hulme. There will also be the world renowned blogger Alfonso Cevola from the US, being a careful connoisseur and lover of the Italian wine culture. The following list, still provisional, includes those wine experts who have confirmed their presence. Other qualified wine buyers, journalists and well known wine connoisseurs will soon be added.
Debra Meiburg MW, Hong Kong: Master of wine, of American origins. Tv and press journalist, Debra Meiburg is one of the most influential figure as far wine critics all over Asia and one of the most skilled expert within the Chinese market. She was awarded the Vinitaly 2012 international prize.
Susan Hulme MW, United Kingdom: Master of Wine and member of the Master of wine Institute Event Committee. Director at Vintuition Limited, International judge, Decanter panellist.
Alfonso Cevola, USA: well known American journalist of Italian origins and expert in Italian wines (“the Italian Wine Guy”. His blog On the wine trail in Italy(http://www.acevola.blogspot.it/) has many thousands of followers. In 2013 he was awarded the international Vinitaly Prize 2013. He writes for several magazines like The Dallas Morning News and The Well Fed Network.
Matthew Waldin, United Kingdom: free lance journalist. Expert in organic and biodynamic wines, writing for Decanter and other magazines.
Steffen Maus, Germany: one of the best German connoisseur of Italian wines and one of the most prolific authors. His book Italiens Weinwelten is a best seller one. He wrote for the German guide Gault Millau and now cooperates with several magazines. His website steffenmaus.com treats mainly Italian wines.
Richard Baudains, United Kingdom: he has dealt with wines for 20 years. He writes for Decanter as well as for other magazines and works as a professor in training courses.
